The Hotel Nacional opened its doors in February 1925, being one of the most important meeting centers for the main representatives of literature in Spain, until 50 years later, in 1977, it had to close its doors, remaining closed for more than 20 years.
It was in 1997 when Grupo Nesgar Promociones acquired the property and completely remodeled it, keeping its emblematic façade intact. Almost 30 years taking care of this historical and representative jewel of the city of Madrid that, today, houses 213 rooms, a suite, several meeting rooms and other activities.
Its traditional restaurant “Tablafina” offers quality Spanish tapas while maintaining the intellectual atmosphere that characterizes it.
